Model HE-1 Heat Exchanger - In order to reduce the size, weight, and volume of our self-contained Pump and Tank Unit, PTU-3, Physitemp Instruments has developed a compact and lightweight active heat exchanger Model HE-1 as a replacement. A built-in compact fan and radiator effectively cool any of our smaller thermoelectric stages such as the TS-4, BFS-3MP, and BFS-5MP as well as our quantitative sensory device, the NTE-3. Less than 1/2 liter of circulating water is required when running. Both the fan and circulating pump are practically silent in operation and self-sealing water fittings are used to prevent water spillage and leaks.

AC power is required to operate the HE-1. A switched accessory outlet on the rear of all thermoelectric controllers is used to power the pump so water starts flowing immediately when the controller is turned on.

designed for use with Physitemp's range of thermoelectric cooling and heating stages. It provides a convenient reservoir of cooling water when a stage is operated in the cooling mode for an extended period of time in a location that has no source of tap water nearby to cool the hot side of the thermoelectric heat pump.
